Hello Great Heroes!


Since the last update, I have some good news and an announcement. Let's start with the latter:


PM card charge date

If you updated your pledge the remaining amount will be charged on November 15. Now we will charge only the VAT and the pledge update (including add-ons) difference or new pre-orders, not the shipping. Please check and assure that you have the sufficient amount on your card. 

Shipping will be charged separately later before the shipping (in around 2023 spring/summer).  Until the shipping, you can change the shipping address anytime in Backerkit.


Progress update

Manufacturing

I think one of the biggest things is that I chose the manufacturer and we already signed the contract. I already paid the deposit and they started to prepare the 3D plastic components. So the manufacturing process has started.:) They can start to work on the non-print components until we finish the print-type components such as the rulebook, punchboard, some cards, etc.

Overall, the promised date is still absolutely realistic and we are on track.


Besides this, we finalized some graphics, let's check some of them below.


New box cover

Because the Mage Hero is replaced with a female one, the box should also be changed accordingly. Please, check the new one. It is amazing work. I like it a lot and I hope you also love it.:) :



Battle card design

One stretch goal was to illustrate the battle cards.  Check the before-after design:

2nd board (map):

Another stretch goal was a 2nd (double-sided) board (map). This needed a lot of thinking and tests because I didn't want just a new design but a whole new experience in the gameplay. I think we could reach this and I am happy with the result. Check the 2 boards and see the differences:

There are still many todos on our side. We are working on the storybook illustrations and on the rulebook and besides them, there are some other graphical fine-tuning.

Pledge manager closes + actual progress

Hi Fellow Heroes!


This update will be short. The most important thing is that the pledge manager closes on 15th September, please update your pledge / pre-order until that! Please note that there will be no retail release, so this is a one-time exclusive opportunity! 


Development progress:

Testing is finished, and rules are fixed. Now I will update the rulebook and the needed graphical changes and new contents are in progress. 

In parallel, I am talking with potential manufacturers, the manufacturing should start this year.

Hey, Fellow Heroes!


Hope your Summer is going well! In this update, I will summarize what's going on on our side. 

In a nutshell: everything is OK and on track. The original plan is still realistic: to start the manufacturing this Autumn and shipping in 2023 preferably in the 1st half of the year.


Female character and other illustrations

One major change is to replace the mage character with a female one. This includes the character artwork, box art change, the storybook, and 3D model.

The artwork is finished and according to your votes here is the final design - hope you like it!:)

The sculptor has just started the 3D model based on this.

Remaining illustrations:

  • One stretch goal was the illustrated Battle cards, artworks for them are in progress. There will be 4 images according to the combat power (0-1-2-3).
  • After the Battle card illustrations, the last images which should be created are the Storybook illustrations (included in the ALL-IN pledge level).

Development progress

In the last 1,5 months, there were a lot of tests and the development team had huge progress with the game mechanic finalization, just a few examples:

  • The 2nd map is ready and balanced - here the goal was to create a different experience, so the positions and also the number of the locations are quite different
  • Location actions are balanced: some of them were too strong and some of them a bit weak, so they needed some modifications
  • Character skills: the 2 sided character sheet was a stretch goal and I am happy to announce that we have found some very interesting new skills that work very well. Of course, they are balanced, not just the skills on one side but the 2 sides too, so in every game, players can choose a side freely, and there are no limitations (like every player should choose the same "A" or "B" side).
  • Cards: some cards (Quest, Bonus) are modified because they were not balanced or they were just not so interesting. Also in order to increase the replayability, 4 new Village cards are created. At the beginning of the game you will choose 6 of them randomly, so in every game, the possibilities can vary.
  • Sources of Darkness: during the campaign, one stretch goal was the 2 sided Shadow expansion, but at this point, I think it won't work: the main idea was to create other new and interesting Sources of Darkness skills for the Shadow player, but after the tests and talking with the development team we just can't make enough interesting skill.  My basic attitude is "quality over quantity" so according to the SG, I should put more Sources of Darkness skills but if they don't work well I won't do it.
  • Cooperative mode: this was the biggest development because previously there was only a concept but no exact rules and tests. It is based on the solo mode, it uses the same event deck. In the last 1,5 months, we had many tests and I am happy with the result. The cooperative mode has an interesting and solid rule set now.

Next ToDos

We start to implement the above-mentioned changes / new things on the components so now we have a lot of graphic design tasks. 

I also start to change and rewrite the rulebook.

The plan is the same, to start the manufacturing during this Autumn and the whole shipping should be done next year.  Everything is absolutely on track.

Please don't forget that the shipping cost will be charged after the manufacturing, just before the shipping!


PM close date

Currently, the plan is to close the orders in the pledge manager on September 15. If you want to make any changes to your pledge please do it until this date!

Pledge manager opens + Development process

Hi Clan Leaders!

First of all,  here is the summer so I hope you can rest a bit and enjoy the holiday season. 

Now I would like to share some good news regarding the pledge manager and the current development process.


Pledge manager

Pledge manager opens this week. In the first days only just a small number of backers will receive their survey and if they don't report any problems, it will be sent out to everybody, so you should expect an email with the survey from BackerKit in 1 week. 

Please read all points below, they contain important information:


  • In the Pledge Manager you can finalize your order, which means:

1. change your pledge level (for example upgrade $1 Watcher to the Deluxe version) and add add-ons. Please note that, add-ons are not available alone, you need to order a main reward too.

2. specify your shipping address (If you will move until the shipping don't worry, you are able to change that later until it is locked. It will be locked before the shipping and I will send a reminder with that.)

3. check out and pay the VAT (if applicable) and for the extra content if you added/changed something

SHIPPING WILL BE CHARGED LATER!

It is very important that shipping cost is very hectic and nowadays it's quite high, hopefully, it will decrease by time. Thus the shipping will be charged as close to the shipping as possible. Of course, I will send an update about it at that time.


  • If you pledge the a Retailer level::

your order will be handled outside of the Pledge manager, so no PM survey will be sent to you. I will contact you right before the mass production (expect this during this autumn), then you can finalize your order and pay the remaining amount. Now you don't need to do anything.


  • Add-ons:

There is some important information about the add-ons:

1. add-ons are not available in themselves, they can be ordered only with a main reward  (Base / Deluxe / All in) So, for example, you can't order a Storybook itself.

2. no extra miniature set: in the box, only 1 miniature set can be placed safely, another extra set is not supported. If you ordered an extra miniature set, that is deleted from your cart. In this case,  you will see extra credits in your pledge manager account. It's not a problem, it can be used for VAT or shipping too when the time comes.


Development process

There are many remaining tasks until the mass production, but everything is on the track.

General testing and balancing are in progress. Due to some stretch goals, there are some new contents too, that should be figured out and tested, for example:

- new character skills (for the 2-sided character board)

- new Sources of Darkness skills for the Shadow player (2-sided Shadow extension)

- new Village cards to increase the replayability (it was not a SG, but I think it will be very valuable)

- full new map (2-sided board)

- co-op  mode

besides them, there are many minor issues that need to be changed and balanced.

Besides the development, some new illustrations are also needed, and they've already started:

- finalizing the female mage character

- illustrations for the battle cards

- illustrations in the Storybook


Once I can show you something I will include it in the next update.


If you would like to participate in testing or in other tasks, let me know. Especially in the solo or coop testing or proofreading documents (for example rulebook). 

I will keep you updated about the process, and I will publish the documents too (rulebook, storybook) before the mass production, so you can check it and let me know in case of any issues.


Language versions 

My licensing agent MOB Vanguard is constantly talking with potential partners but unfortunately, currently, there are still no agreements. As there is any news about it I will send an update with that.

Hey Everyone!

Hope you are doing well! I took a rest for some days, but now I'm back to the todos and I will start the next steps.

First of all, I owed you the following results:


Flag styles

According to the voting, the final result is:

  • Flag A:  Shadow
  • Flag B: Warrior
  • Flag C: Engineer
  • Flag D: Mage

and I hear your voice, and actually, I also like your idea: according to your feedback the pole style of the A and D will be switched, so the Shadow will have the A flag type but with the pole from D, and reverse, Mage will have the D flag type but with the pole from A design.

Female character design

First of all, thank you for all your replies and feedback!

The result is:

  • Design #1: 28 votes
  • Design #2: 15 votes
  • Design #3: 18 votes

based on this Design #1 is the winner:

There was so much written feedback too (for example multiple people wrote that they like this one but with the equipment / outfit of the 2nd character). During the finalization, I will take this character and design as a base but some minor changes are possible based on your feedback and I will come up with a beautiful final version that is coherent with the existing design and style. Of course, you will see it (and every step and milestone) via updates. Thank you very much for your contribution!


Story contest

There were 4 people whose answers were always correct, so there is a tie. After a  random selection (check it here) Erik Di Trani has won! Congratulations Erik! But I really thank everybody who participated, and I want to congratulate Schieba, Adam Albert, and kjedi24, you had the correct answers to all questions. Amazing job!
